1. Open your VEMBU database
|
|
|
2. Please refrain from entering data directly into the tables
|
|
|
3. The forms were designed with QA/QC rules for your benefit and the tables do not have such restraints built into them
|
|
|
4. Inspect the icons under the “Deployment Lists” tab (Add Receiver, Add Station, Add Sensor)
|
|
|
5. To add a receiver, select the “Add Receiver” icon
|
|
|
6. Enter the receiver serial number in the pop up window
|
|
|
7. Select the receiver model type from the drop down menu
|
|
|
8. Enter the date purchased in the form yyyy-mm-dd
|
|
|
9. Enter the receiver owner, project, or granting agency
|
|
|
10. If you have a receiver model that has an associated internal tag (e.g. VR2-Tx), enter the Tag ID
|
|
|
11. Click “Save and New” to save and populate a new pop up window
|
|
|
12. Once you are finished entering new receivers, click “Close”
|
|
|
13. To add a station, select the “Add Station” icon
|
|
|
14. Enter the 4-6 alpha numeric station code that you wish to add
|
|
|
15. Enter the date the station was established
|
|
|
16. Select the attachment method from the drop down menu
|
|
|
17. Enter the latitude and longitude in decimal degree format
|
|
|
18. Here is a useful coordinate converter website: http://www.earthpoint.us/Convert.aspx
|
|
|
19. Enter the Bottom Depth and appropriate measurement unit
|
|
|
20. Enter the Riser length, the length from the anchor to the top of the mooring assembly
|
|
|
21. Enter the Instrument Depth, the depth that the instrument sits in the water column, or the difference between the bottom depth and the distance between the bottom depth and the instrument
|

|
22. Select the Waterbody Type, Habitat Type, and Bottom Type from the dropdown menus
|
|
|
23. Enter any additional comments in the Station Description (e.g. off the bow of the wreck)
|
|
|
24. Select the project to which this station belongs from the dropdown menu
|
|
|
25. Select the station timeline from the dropdown menu (i.e. how long do you intend for this station to be in place)
|
|
|
26. Select the state and array from the dropdown menu
|
|
|
27. Station status is defaulted to Active – please leave the station set to Active
|
|
|
28. Click “Save and New”
|
|
|
29. If you do NOT wish to save the information you entered, click “Clear Form” prior to clicking “Close”
|
|
|
30. To add an environmental sensor, select the “Add Sensor” icon
|
|
|
31. Select the type of environmental sensor from the dropdown menu in the pop up window
|
|
|
32. Enter the Make of the sensor aka the manufacturing company (e.g. Onset)
|
|
|
33. Enter the model of the sensor (e.g. Hobo)
|
|
|
34. Enter the serial number of the sensor and the date purchased
|
|
|
35. Select the project under which this sensor was purchased
|
|
|
